The country's liquid foreign exchange reserves rose by $169.7 million during last week. According to State Bank of Pakistan, foreign exchange reserves surged to $13.378 billion during last week ended December 21, 2012 compared to $13.208 billion a week earlier. Forex reserves held by SBP increased by $38.6 million to $8.625 billion as on December 21, 2012 from $8.587 billion as on December 14, 2012. In addition, with an increase of $131.1 million, forex reserves held by banks reached $4.752 billion mark.
